Another "Need" of Mine

As I've said before, I'm not a professional photographer and have never taken any classes beyond the basics, but I do really love doing it. Last year I got a Nikon D60. It's basically an entry level DSLR, but it serves my skill level well, which is that beyond amateur and before professional. You could say my general method is to become an armchair expert on as many things as I can think of, but not to commit too much to any one thing for fear of falling out of the loop on all the others.

ANYWAY, the other day I had to star the lens pictured above in Google Reader, from a Gizmodo post. It's a prime lens with a 1.8 aperture and fits really well with the setup I have right now. It would actually be amazing for what I am trying to do - #1 being becoming a better photographer and #2 being getting a wider aperture than my current largest - 3.5. If I'm remembering my photo skillz correctly, (don't make a fool of yourself!) This will really help out with the low light problems that I was talking about a couple of posts ago. Of course, along with that comes a really narrow depth of field, and no zoom, but those are challenges for me to learn about and get past, anyway :-)

It runs a mere $200 and starts shipping in March - Amazon Prime, you know my number!
