Summer Things

A recipe for Caffe Freddo
(to cool you down and pep you up)

1. Make about 3 oz of strong coffee per serving. I like to use instant espresso or my percolator. A french press is acceptable, and drip coffee is last resort.
2. Add a good heaping amount of sugar (brown or white) to the coffee and stir to melt. It's best to make sweeter than you want if you're going to dilute the mixture with cream or melting ice.
3. Add a dash of almond extract.
4. Fill a cocktail shaker full of ice and pour the concoction in. Shake till cool.
5. Strain into a glass filled with ice and if you prefer, top it off with some cream.
6. Add straw and yum!
